Simple Staging Tips That Help a Home Sell Faster

Staging doesn't have to mean hiring a designer or renting furniture. Most of what makes a home show well comes down to a handful of simple, low-cost changes. Here's where I tell sellers to focus their time.
Start With Decluttering
Buyers need to picture their own life in the space, and that's hard to do around someone else's belongings. Clearing countertops, closets, and extra furniture makes rooms look larger and lets buyers focus on the house itself.
Let in Light and Neutralize Color
Open the blinds, replace any burnt-out bulbs, and consider a fresh coat of neutral paint in rooms with bold colors. Bright, neutral spaces photograph better and appeal to a wider range of buyers.
Handle Small Repairs First
A dripping faucet or a sticky door might seem minor, but small issues add up in a buyer's mind and can make them wonder what else hasn't been maintained. Fixing these ahead of time removes an easy objection.
Don't Forget Curb Appeal
The exterior is the first thing buyers see, often before they even get out of the car. Fresh mulch, a trimmed lawn, and a clean front door go a long way toward a good first impression.
